The Dillion James Band is a collective of musicians that jam, perform and record with the man himself. Hailing from the luscious tablelands of Far North Queensland, and inspired by his travels across the globe, in particular a stint in New Orleans to jam and learn, Dillion's Hammond B3 “…leads the groove and breathes the blues” while the accompanying musicians envelop the vibe with reggae and funk overtones giving rise to an infectious performance.

Whether holding the spotlight in his own right or jumping on stage with some of the biggest names in the game, Dillion's ability to tickle the ivories has long been recognised amoungst his peers and within the industry. In the past decade he has been in the engine room with Mojo Webb, Blind Dog Donnie, Mick Hadley, Lil' Fi and Blind Lemon playing the likes of East Coast Blues & Roots and Woodford Folk Festival amoungst other things. In 2010 the band received the accolade of winning the Blues Association of South-East Queensland (BASEQ) Blues Performers' of the Year Award - scoring themselves a spot on the bill for the Australian Blues Music Festival. Since then the band has wowed the audiences of Queenscliffe's Blues Train, Broadbeach, Brisbane, Ipswich, and Twin Towns Blues' Fesitvals, as well more electronic roots festivals such as Manifest, and Nimbin's Mardi Grass.

His brand new reggae inspired EP "One Chance to Say it" will be released through Beanstalk Records/Green Media (MGM) in June 2012. The five tracks have been recorded in the world class American Girl studios at Burleigh Heads, with Toby Baron who also plays drums for the band. Well respected sound engineer, Beachy Wild doubles as bass player and producer, while the well traveled Norman Baquiran layers guitar and vocals with a wealth of experience from extensive of tours the Asia-Pacific cultural melting pot. The band is rounded of by jazz specialist and saxophone soloist Alex Fletcher. The recordings feature a plethora of guest artists including Bobby Alu, Sian Evans, Brodie Graham, Tashka Urban, Arig Issack, Taya Walsh, and David Turpin.
